Most printed and cursive handwriting reads fine, faded cards included. When one does come back wrong, the cause is very often the photo rather than the card: shoot in indirect daylight with the flash off, hold the phone parallel to the surface, and a card that failed the first time usually succeeds on the retake. You can edit any section of the result directly, including recipes split into parts like "For the crust" and "For the filling".
